Former MC5 Bassist MICHAEL DAVIS Involved In Motorcycle Crash

May 9, 2006

Former MC5 bassist Michael Davis was involved in a motorcycle accident on Monday, May 8. He has been hospitalized and is expected to recover.

According to Michael's wife and manager Angela Davis, Michael was riding his Harley Davidson on a Los Angeles freeway when he was unable to avoid a large muffler that dropped from a vehicle into his path. Michael — who was wearing his helmet and leather jacket — suffered a fractured spine, bruised ribs, and several abrasions.

The planned DKT full-band performance at the Joey Ramone Birthday Bash in New York City on Friday, May 19 will be modified. Wayne Kramer will perform with fellow musicians who are already confirmed for the night's show. More details will be posted at www.joeyramone.com. Meanwhile, DKT's performance on Thursday, May 18 at Brooklyn's North Six will have to be rescheduled. Wayne's solo acoustic show will go forward as planned at Joe's Pub.

If you wish to send an e-mail well-wish to Michael, you may send it to [email protected].
